Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Ground Maple Pork Sausage
  • 6 slices White Bread
  • 8 oz Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 8 Large Eggs
  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 1 tsp Dry Mustard
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Salt

Instructions:

  1. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Remove the crusts from the bread and cut each slice in half. Layer the bread evenly at the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Top the bread with the browned sausage, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the sausage.
  5. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, mustard, pepper, and salt. Pour this mixture over the cheese in the casserole dish.
  6. Cover the casserole and refrigerate for at least 8 hours (overnight is ideal).
  7. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350°F. Let the casserole sit at room temperature while the oven heats up.
  8. Uncover and bake for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Allow the casserole to rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
