🛒 Ingredients (Serves 6)

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup onion, finely diced
  • 1 lb small shrimp, cooked, peeled, and chopped
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 dashes hot sauce
  • ½ tsp dried dill
  • ½ tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Add diced onion and cook for about 5 minutes until soft and translucent (not browned).
  3. In a large bowl, beat together:
    • cream cheese
    • mayonnaise
    • lemon juice
    • hot sauce
    • dill
    • Old Bay seasoning
    • garlic powder
    • cooked onion
    Mix until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Fold in chopped shrimp and ¾ cup of the cheddar cheese.
  5. Spread the mixture into a small baking dish.
Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake for 18–22 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
Broil for 1–2 minutes if you want a golden, cheesy top.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite dippers.

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • 🦐 Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor (but canned works in a pinch)
  • 🧀 Let cream cheese soften for easier mixing
  • 🔥 Don’t overcook shrimp—they should stay tender and juicy
  • 🍋 Add extra lemon juice for a brighter taste

🔄 Variations

  • 🧄 Add roasted garlic for deeper flavor
  • 🥬 Mix in spinach or artichokes for extra texture
  • 🦀 Combine shrimp and crab for a seafood blend
  • ❄️ Serve chilled instead of baked for a cold dip option

🥡 Storage & Reheating

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days
  • Reheat in the oven at low heat until warmed through
  • Add extra cheese on top when reheating for best results
  • ❌ Not recommended for freezing (texture may change)

🍽️ Best Dippers

  • Crackers (Ritz, Triscuits)
  • Crostini or toasted bread
  • Pretzels
  • Bagel chips
  • Fresh veggies (broccoli, celery, carrots)
