Honey Garlic Butter Shrimp is a quick and easy dish that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser! Made with simple ingredients, it comes together in under 20 minutes, making it perfect for a busy weeknight meal.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled, deveined, and tails removed if desired
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cups chopped broccoli
- 1 tsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes until combined.
- Place the shrimp in a bowl and pour 1/3 of the sauce over it. Set aside to marinate.
- Add cornstarch to the remaining sauce and mix well.
- Heat a skillet or wok over high heat. Add olive oil, broccoli, salt, and pepper, and cook for 5-6 minutes until tender. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Melt the butter in the same skillet, then add the shrimp (discard the marinade). Cook for about 2 minutes per side, until the shrimp turn pink.
- Add the reserved sauce to the skillet and simmer on low-medium heat for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Toss the broccoli back into the skillet and stir until heated through.
- Serve over rice or pasta.
Notes:
- For more flavor, marinate the shrimp for 30 minutes.
- Jumbo shrimp (16/20) work great for this recipe, but any size shrimp will do. Adjust cooking time for smaller shrimp.
- Leaving the tails on the shrimp adds extra flavor and visual appeal, but feel free to remove them.
- Fresh broccoli is ideal, but if using frozen, thaw and pat dry before cooking.
