Swiss Chicken Casserole

This Chicken and Swiss Cheese Casserole is a cozy, hearty dish featuring tender chicken, a creamy sauce, and a crispy, golden stuffing topping. It’s a perfect main course for family dinners, holiday gatherings, or potlucks—bringing warmth and comfort to every bite!

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (pounded to even thickness if needed)
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups herb-seasoned stuffing mix
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the Ingredients: Place the chicken breasts in the baking dish. Lay a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each breast.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup and milk until smooth. Pour over the chicken and cheese, spreading evenly.
  4. Add the Topping: Sprinkle the stuffing mix evenly over the top, then drizzle with melted butter.
  5. Bake: Bake for 45-50 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the topping is golden.
  6. Serve: Let the casserole rest a few minutes before serving, garnishing with parsley if desired.

Notes:

Try using different cheeses or adding veggies like spinach or bell peppers for variety. For a gluten-free option, substitute with gluten-free stuffing mix. Enjoy this easy, flavorful dish!
