Baked Cranberry Brie Bread Bowl
This stunning Baked Cranberry Brie Bread Bowl is the ultimate holiday appetizer! With melty brie and sweet-tart cranberry sauce, it’s a delightful combination that’s perfect for festive gatherings.
Ingredients:
- 1 rustic bread boule
- 1 wheel of brie (about 12 ounces; top rind removed—triple cream is best)
- ½ cup whole berry cranberry sauce
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Kosher salt
- Fresh ground pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Cut off the top quarter of the bread boule and use the brie wheel to trace a circle in the middle of the bread. Carefully scoop out the center, creating a hollow space for the cheese.
- Make cuts around the edge of the bread about 1.5 inches apart, cutting approximately ¾ of the way through, to create pull-apart pieces.
- Brush the inside of the hollowed-out bread with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle half of the thyme leaves inside. Place the brie wheel in the center, then sprinkle the remaining thyme over the top and spoon the cranberry sauce on top of the brie.
- Replace the top of the bread and bake for about 20 minutes. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper to catch any brie that may ooze out.
- Optionally, toast the bread pieces you scooped out for serving. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes:
- For the best melty texture, opt for triple cream brie. Double cream brie won’t melt as nicely.
- If using store-bought cranberry sauce, ensure it’s whole berry and not jellied.
