Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent rolls (or breadsticks if available)
  • 1 package hot dogs
  • Optional: cheese slices
  • Optional: candy eyes for decoration

Why This Recipe Works

These Mummy Dogs are a festive twist on classic pigs in a blanket. Wrapping the hot dogs in dough creates the “mummy” look, while candy eyes add a playful finishing touch that kids especially love. They’re easy to make, quick to bake, and great for feeding a crowd at any Halloween gathering.

What to Do

  1. Preheat Oven: Start by heating your oven to 375°F and preparing a large baking sheet with non-stick spray.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent dough and pinch any seams to form a smooth sheet (or use crescent dough sheets if you have them). Cut the dough into thin strips with a knife or pizza cutter.
  3. Wrap the Mummies: Take each hot dog and wrap it in the dough strips, leaving a small gap near the top to create a “face” for the mummy. Stretch the dough slightly as you wrap to ensure good coverage.
  4. Bake: Place the wrapped hot dogs on the baking sheet and bake for 13–17 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
  5. Add Cheese and Eyes: If using cheese, place a small slice on the “face” of each mummy and return to the oven for about a minute, just until melted. Remove from the oven and add candy eyes immediately.

These Mummy Dogs make a fun and spooky addition to any Halloween event! Serve them with a side of ketchup and pair them with a Halloween punch or Witches Brew for a complete festive spread.

These Mummy Dogs are an adorable Halloween treat that’s always a hit with kids and adults alike! Made with just hot dogs and crescent roll dough, they’re super easy to whip up and perfect for Halloween parties or a themed family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent rolls

  • 10–12 hot dogs

Directions

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet with non-stick spray.
  • Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent dough and press together any seams to form a sheet. (Crescent roll sheets work well if available). Cut the dough into strips using a knife or pizza cutter.
  • Wrap the Mummies: Wrap each hot dog in the crescent dough strips, leaving about 1/2 inch exposed at the top for a “face.” Stretch the dough slightly as you wrap to cover most of the hot dog.
  • Bake: Arrange the wrapped hot dogs on the baking sheet and bake for 13–17 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra fun, place a small piece of cheese on the “face” area and return to the oven for about a minute to melt. Remove from the oven and immediately add candy eyes. Serve warm and enjoy!
