Jam Donut Focaccia (Soft, Sweet & Bakery-Style)

If you ask me, this jam donut focaccia is pure breakfast magic.

It combines the fluffy, airy texture of classic focaccia with all the sweet, comforting flavors of a jam-filled donut. The soft dough bakes up golden and pillowy, while pockets of jam melt into every bite, creating little bursts of sweetness throughout.

The best part? It’s made with simple pantry ingredients and comes together easier than you’d expect. Perfect for a cozy weekend bake or a show-stopping brunch centerpiece.

💛 Why You’ll Love This Jam Donut Focaccia

  • 🍩 The best of both worlds – Soft focaccia meets sweet donut flavors
  • 🛒 Simple ingredients – Nothing fancy, just pantry staples
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Perfect for sharing – Easy to slice and serve for brunch or dessert
  • ✨ Impressive yet easy – Looks bakery-quality but beginner-friendly
  • 🍓 Customizable – Use any jam or even chocolate spread

🌾 What Kind of Flour Should You Use?

A mix of bread flour and all-purpose flour gives the best texture:

  • Bread flour → adds chewiness and structure
  • All-purpose → keeps it soft and tender

👉 You can use all all-purpose flour if needed—your focaccia will still be delicious, just slightly softer.

🔄 Substitutions

  • Bread flour → all-purpose flour (use 4 cups total)
  • Active dry yeast → instant yeast
  • Raspberry jam → strawberry, apricot, blueberry, or Nutella
  • Olive oil → melted butter or neutral oil
  • Milk (glaze) → cream or water
  • Glaze → optional, or dust with powdered sugar

⚠️ Tips for Success

  • Use warm (not hot) water to activate yeast
  • Let the dough rise fully (don’t rush!)
  • Don’t overload with jam before baking
  • Make deep dimples for classic focaccia texture
  • Add extra jam after baking for maximum flavor

🍽️ What to Serve With It

  • ☕ Coffee or tea
  • 🍓 Fresh berries
  • 🍦 Whipped cream or yogurt
  • 🥓 For brunch: eggs and bacon

🧊 Storage

  • Room temp: up to 2 days
  • Freeze: up to 1 month
  • Reheat:
    • Oven: 5–8 minutes at 300°F
    • Microwave: 15–20 seconds
