Honey Garlic Butter Shrimp is a quick and easy dish that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser! Made with simple ingredients, it comes together in under 20 minutes, making it perfect for a busy weeknight meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled, deveined, and tails removed if desired
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cups chopped broccoli
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes until combined.
  2. Place the shrimp in a bowl and pour 1/3 of the sauce over it. Set aside to marinate.
  3. Add cornstarch to the remaining sauce and mix well.
  4. Heat a skillet or wok over high heat. Add olive oil, broccoli, salt, and pepper, and cook for 5-6 minutes until tender. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  5. Melt the butter in the same skillet, then add the shrimp (discard the marinade). Cook for about 2 minutes per side, until the shrimp turn pink.
  6. Add the reserved sauce to the skillet and simmer on low-medium heat for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Toss the broccoli back into the skillet and stir until heated through.
  8. Serve over rice or pasta.

Notes:

  • For more flavor, marinate the shrimp for 30 minutes.
  • Jumbo shrimp (16/20) work great for this recipe, but any size shrimp will do. Adjust cooking time for smaller shrimp.
  • Leaving the tails on the shrimp adds extra flavor and visual appeal, but feel free to remove them.
  • Fresh broccoli is ideal, but if using frozen, thaw and pat dry before cooking.
