Homemade Cinnamon Toast Crunch

Homemade Cinnamon Toast Crunch is light, crispy, and perfectly coated in a sweet cinnamon-sugar blend. Unlike the store-bought version, this cereal isn’t overly sweet or heavy—it’s just the right balance of crunch and flavor. Whether you enjoy it with milk for breakfast or by the handful as a snack, it’s a treat that brings cozy, nostalgic vibes to your kitchen.

Not a cinnamon fan? You can skip it, and the cereal will still turn out wonderfully delicious!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

✨ Crunchy, light, and not overly sweet
✨ Made with simple pantry ingredients
✨ Perfect for breakfast or snacking
✨ Fun and easy homemade version of a classic cereal

Kitchen Tools You’ll Need

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Rolling pin
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife or pizza cutter
  • Cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the topping:

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

1. Make the Dough

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, ¼ cup sugar, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until a soft dough forms.

2. Roll It Out

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out thin—about ⅛ inch.

3. Cut Into Squares

Peel off the top parchment. Using a knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into small squares (about ½ inch). Transfer the parchment with cut dough onto a baking sheet.

4. Bake the Cereal

Bake for 10–12 minutes, until golden and crisp.

5. Add the Topping

While cereal bakes, mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Melt butter separately. Once cereal comes out of the oven, brush with melted butter and immediately sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.

6. Cool & Serve

Let cereal cool completely on a wire rack. Break apart any stuck pieces. Store in an airtight container for up to a week—or dig in right away!

Serving Ideas

  • With cold milk for a classic breakfast
  • As a crunchy yogurt topping
  • Straight from the jar as a snack
  • Sprinkled over ice cream for dessert

Homemade Cinnamon Toast Crunch is proof that simple ingredients can make something extraordinary. Light, crunchy, and just sweet enough, it’s a family favorite you’ll find yourself making again and again.
