Easy Mini Halloween Pizzas

These Easy Mini Halloween Pizzas are a spooky and delicious way to celebrate the season! Perfect for kids and adults alike, these mini pizzas come together quickly with flour tortillas as the base and festive toppings made from sliced cheese, black olives, and bell pepper. Use your creativity to design fun Halloween faces like ghosts, mummies, spiders, and pumpkins.

Ingredients and Tools

  • Flour tortillas (10-inch)
  • Olive oil
  • Homemade or store-bought pizza sauce
  • Mozzarella cheese (shredded and sliced)
  • Cheddar cheese (sliced)
  • Black olives
  • Bell pepper (for pumpkin stem)

Cookie Cutters/Tools:

  • Ghost-shaped cookie cutters (baby ghost and friendly ghost)
  • Jack O’Lantern or pumpkin cookie cutter
  • Egg-shaped cookie cutter (for Pac-Man ghost)
  • Kitchen shears
  • Pizza cutter

Thin and Crispy Tortilla Crust To make the crust, cut 4.5 to 5-inch circles from the flour tortillas. Brush both sides with olive oil and toast them in a skillet over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown. This step gives the pizzas a crispy base and prevents sogginess.

Toppings & Decorations

  • Spooky Spider: Half of a black olive for the body and thin slices for the legs.
  • Baby Ghosts: Cut from mozzarella slices, with black olive eyes.
  • Friendly Ghost: Same as above with added olive mouth.
  • Mummy: Thin mozzarella strips arranged like bandages, olive slices for eyes.
  • Pac-Man Ghost: Mozzarella cut into egg shape with zigzag bottom, black olive eyes.
  • Jack O’Lantern: Cheddar slice cut with a pumpkin cutter, decorated with mozzarella eyes/mouth and a bell pepper stem.

Assembly

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with non-stick foil.
  2. Spread 2 teaspoons of pizza sauce on each tortilla round.
  3. Top one round with shredded mozzarella for the spider design.
  4. Leave the rest plain to add shaped cheeses after baking.
  5. Bake for 6 minutes until sauce is bubbling.
  6. Remove from oven and add cheese cutouts and toppings.
  7. Return to oven for 1-2 minutes until cheese starts to melt. Watch closely so shapes don’t lose definition.

Serving These mini Halloween pizzas are best enjoyed fresh but can be made slightly ahead and reheated. They make a fun and festive appetizer or snack for Halloween parties, lunchboxes, or a themed dinner night.

Tips

  • Use street taco tortillas if you don’t want to cut your own.
  • Skip the cookie cutters by using kitchen shears for freehand designs.
  • Add cheese decorations after initial bake to maintain the look.

Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Pizza Sauce (optional – or use store-bought):

  • 1 (28 oz) can whole tomatoes, drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Mini Halloween Pizzas:

  • 3 (10-inch) flour tortillas
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese
  • 4 large black olives
  • ¼ cup pizza sauce
  • 2 tbsp shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Small piece of green bell pepper (for pumpkin stem)

Instructions

  1. Make the Pizza Sauce (if using):
Blend drained tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, vinegar, and oregano in a food processor until smooth (about 30 seconds). Season with salt and pepper. Set aside. Yields ~2 cups.
  2. Prepare Tortilla Crusts:
    • Cut six 4½–5-inch circles from tortillas.
    • Brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook each side for 2–3 minutes until golden and crisp.
    • Place on a foil-lined baking sheet.
  3. Cut Decorative Cheese Toppings:
    • Use cookie cutters to cut out ghost and pumpkin shapes from cheese slices.
    • Use kitchen shears for details like zigzag edges for Pac-Man ghost or mummy strips.
    • Use black olives for eyes, spider parts, and ghost faces.
    • Cut a small piece of bell pepper for a pumpkin stem.
  4. Assemble the Pizzas:
    • Spread 2 tsp pizza sauce on each crust.
    • Add 2 tbsp shredded mozzarella on one pizza (for the spider design).
    • Leave others topped only with sauce to preserve cheese cutout shapes.
  5. First Bake:
    • Bake all pizzas at 400°F (200°C) for 6 minutes.
  6. Decorate:
    • Build spider using halved olive body and olive legs on the cheesy pizza.
    • Place cheese cutouts and olive features on remaining pizzas (ghosts, mummy, pumpkin, etc.).
  7. Final Bake:
    • Return to oven for 1–2 minutes, just until cheese starts to soften—don’t overmelt.
