Easy Homemade Granola (Crunchy & Healthy)

This homemade granola is packed with wholesome oats, crunchy nuts, coconut, and warm spices. It bakes into delicious golden clusters that are perfect for breakfast or snacking. Simple, customizable, and way better than store-bought, this recipe is a must-have staple in your kitchen!

🥣 Why You’ll Love This Granola

  • Healthy & wholesome with simple ingredients
  • Perfect crunchy clusters every time
  • Naturally sweetened and customizable
  • Great for meal prep – stays fresh for weeks
  • Versatile – enjoy for breakfast, snacks, or desserts

🛒 Ingredients

  • 4–5 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ⅔ cup melted coconut oil (or canola oil)
  • ½ cup honey (or maple syrup)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup coconut flakes
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, or cashews)

Optional add-ins:

  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Chia seeds or flax seeds
  • Dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, apricots)
  • Chocolate chips (add after baking)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat oven
Preheat to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Mix ingredients
In a large bowl, combine oats, oil, honey, brown sugar, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, coconut, and nuts. Mix well until everything is coated.

3. Spread evenly
Spread the mixture in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.

4. Bake
Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and stir. Press the mixture down gently to help form clusters.

5. Continue baking
Return to the oven and bake for another 7–10 minutes. For extra crunch, press again and bake an additional 5 minutes.

6. Cool completely
Let the granola cool fully before breaking into clusters—it will crisp up as it cools.

7. Add extras
Stir in dried fruit or chocolate chips once cooled.

💡 Tips for Perfect Granola

  • Press the mixture down before and during baking for big clusters
  • Don’t overbake—granola crisps up as it cools
  • Add dried fruit after baking to keep it soft
  • Use rolled oats only (not quick oats) for best texture

🍓 How to Serve

  • Over yogurt or smoothie bowls
  • With milk as a cereal
  • On oatmeal or overnight oats
  • As a crunchy topping for baked fruit
  • Enjoyed by the handful as a snack

🧊 Storage

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 month
  • Freeze for up to 2 months for longer storage

✨ Final Thoughts

This homemade granola is the perfect balance of crunchy, sweet, and wholesome. Once you make it yourself, you’ll never go back to store-bought again!
