Easy Baked Honey Dijon Chicken

Looking for a super simple, flavorful dinner? This Easy Baked Honey Dijon Chicken is a game-changer! Chicken is baked in a quick honey dijon sauce that’s tangy, sweet, and savory—all in one pan. Minimal prep, maximum flavor, and cleanup is a breeze.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

This baked chicken is coated in a homemade honey dijon sauce that gets beautifully rich as it roasts. Adding a splash of chicken broth keeps the sauce from burning and ensures there’s plenty to drizzle over the chicken and your sides. It’s a one-pan meal that pairs perfectly with steamed veggies, mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons whole grain Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or grated
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (or water)
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 2–3 sprigs fresh rosemary

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the honey, mustards, vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, and chicken broth.
  3. Toss the chicken in the sauce and place in a baking dish in a single layer. Tuck rosemary sprigs between the chicken pieces.
  4. Bake until chicken reaches 165°F (75°C), about 25–35 minutes.
    • Tip: Cover the pan for a moister chicken and more sauce, or leave uncovered for golden-brown edges and thicker sauce.
  5. Serve hot, drizzled with the pan sauce.

Optional Variations

  • Swap honey for maple syrup.
  • Use yellow mustard instead of Dijon mustards.
  • Add 1/4 cup parmesan cheese for extra richness.
  • Stir in 1 tablespoon white miso paste for umami flavor.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon paprika or curry powder for a subtle spice kick.
  • Mix in sriracha or chili sauce for heat.

Serving Suggestions

  • Steamed broccoli, green beans, or Brussels sprouts
  • Mashed potatoes or mashed cauliflower
  • Rice, pasta, or quinoa
