Dutch Apple Bread Recipe

This Dutch Apple Bread is a quick, yeast-free dessert that’s fluffy, moist, and incredibly fragrant! Filled with tender apple pieces and crunchy nuts, topped with a cinnamon-sugar crust, and drizzled with a sweet vanilla glaze, it’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients
For the Bread:

  • 1/2 cup softened butter (1 stick)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups diced green apple (peeled)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

For the Topping:

  • 5 tbsp cold butter
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Vanilla Glaze:

  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 10 x 4-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla, and mix well.
  3. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the diced apples and chopped nuts.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. In a small bowl, mix all the topping ingredients together until crumbly. Sprinkle over the top of the batter.
  6. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the bread cool on a wire rack.
  7. While the bread cools, whisk together all the glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread.
  8. Slice and enjoy the moist, cinnamon-scented goodness!

Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a snack!
