Why You’ll Love These Sliders

  • Crispy + Juicy – perfectly breaded chicken with a golden, crunchy crust.
  • Flavor-Packed Sauce – tangy, creamy, sweet, and spicy Bang Bang sauce ties everything together.
  • Party Ready – easy to serve as sliders for a crowd, but hearty enough for dinner.
  • Customizable – adjust the spice level, bake instead of fry, or swap in veggies for a lighter option.

Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 1 ½ pounds thin-sliced chicken breasts
  • Kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder (for seasoning)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs (more as needed)
  • Vegetable or canola oil (for frying)

For the Bang Bang Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Sliders

  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 12 slider buns

Instructions

1. Bread the Chicken

  1. Season chicken on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Set up three bowls:
    • Bowl 1: flour + cornstarch
    • Bowl 2: buttermilk, hot sauce, egg
    • Bowl 3: panko breadcrumbs
  3. Dredge chicken in flour mixture (shake off excess), dip in buttermilk mixture, then press into breadcrumbs until coated.

2. Fry the Chicken

  1. Heat a thin layer of oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Fry breaded chicken in batches, 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate to drain.

3. Make the Sauce

Whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, lime juice, and garlic powder until smooth. Set aside.

4. Assemble the Sliders

  1. Cut fried chicken into slider-sized pieces.
  2. Place on buns, top with mozzarella cheese, and drizzle generously with Bang Bang sauce.
  3. Serve warm with extra sauce on the side for dipping.

Tips & Variations

  • Keep Warm – Hold fried chicken in a 325°F oven until ready to assemble.
  • Bake Instead of Fry – For a lighter version, bake breaded chicken at 400°F for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Spice Level – Add more or less sriracha to adjust the heat.
  • Vegetarian Twist – Replace chicken with crispy cauliflower or tofu.
  • Extra Toppings – Add shredded lettuce, pickles, or sliced red onion for crunch.
