Baked Bacon Cheeseburger Mac and Cheese

Some of the best family memories are made around the dinner table, and nothing brings everyone together quite like a comforting, homemade meal. This Baked Bacon Cheeseburger Mac and Cheese puts a delicious twist on two beloved classics: cheeseburgers and mac and cheese. Rich, cheesy, and loaded with savory flavor, it’s the perfect dish for cozy weeknight dinners or casual gatherings with friends. Best of all, it’s easy to prepare and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for kids and adults alike.

Pair this hearty main course with a crisp green salad or steamed broccoli for a burst of freshness and color. Want to go all out? Serve it with homemade garlic bread or a light tomato cucumber salad. A cold glass of lemonade or iced tea makes the perfect finishing touch.

Baked Bacon Cheeseburger Mac and Cheese Servings: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ cup bread crumbs

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook elbow macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, and the garlic is fragrant.
  5. Stir in the crumbled bacon, then remove the skillet from heat.
  6. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  7. Gradually whisk in the milk. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens.
  8. Lower the heat and add the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses, stirring until melted and smooth.
  9. Season cheese sauce with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  10. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked macaroni, beef-bacon mixture, and cheese sauce. Stir well.
  11. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle bread crumbs evenly over the top.
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  13. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Tips & Variations:

  • For a spicy version, mix in some diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce into the cheese sauce.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, or spinach for extra veggies.
  • Use panko breadcrumbs for a crunchier topping.

This adaptable recipe is perfect for making ahead or reheating leftovers, making it a weeknight winner every time.
