Baby Yoda Cocktail (Kiwi Martini)

This Baby Yoda Cocktail is not only adorable—it’s absolutely delicious, too! Made with muddled fresh kiwi, simple syrup, and vodka, this bright green martini is perfect for May the Fourth, St. Patrick’s Day, or any Star Wars-themed celebration.

With a couple of black olive “eyes,” kiwi “ears,” and a brown paper “robe” wrapped around the stem of your coupe glass, this drink looks just like everyone’s favorite little Jedi—Grogu, aka Baby Yoda!

Why You’ll Love This Kiwi Martini

  • Perfect for Parties: A showstopper for Star Wars Day, themed birthdays, or any nerdy gathering.
  • Customizable: Turn it into a mocktail for kids or non-drinkers.
  • Deliciously Refreshing: Sweet, tart kiwi with smooth vodka—it’s just plain tasty.
  • Ridiculously Cute: Those kiwi ears and olive eyes? Instant crowd-pleaser.

Who Is Baby Yoda?

Okay, Star Wars fans, we know his name is Grogu, but he’ll always be Baby Yoda in our hearts. First introduced in The Mandalorian, Grogu quickly stole the spotlight with his big eyes, tiny hands, and floating bassinet. And just like that, the internet fell in love.

When season 2 ended, I knew it was time for a tribute—thus, the Baby Yoda Cocktail was born.

Ingredients You’ll Need

For the Simple Syrup:

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

For the Kiwi Martini:

  • 2 ripe kiwi fruits (1 for the drink, ½ for ears)
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  • 1 ½ ounces vodka (we like Grey Goose, but use your fave)
  • 2 black olives (for the eyes)
  • Ice

Optional:

  • Brown paper lunch bag (to create Grogu’s robe)
  • Long toothpick or cocktail stick (for the olive eyes)

How to Make the Simple Syrup

  1. Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  3. Let it cool completely before using. Store in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 1 month.

How to Assemble Your Baby Yoda Cocktail

Step 1: Make the Accessories

  • Peel and slice a kiwi lengthwise for the ears.
  • Skewer two black olives onto a cocktail pick for the eyes.
  • Cut a rectangle from a brown paper lunch bag to make Grogu’s robe. Fold the top down for a “collar” and secure around the stem with tape.

Step 2: Mix the Drink

  • Scoop the flesh from 1 kiwi into a metal shaker or glass.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of simple syrup.
  • Muddle well to release the juices.
  • Add ice and vodka.
  • Shake for at least 10 seconds, then strain into a coupe glass.

Step 3: Decorate

  • Tuck kiwi slices onto each side of the glass rim for ears.
  • Rest the olive “eyes” across the front.
  • Wrap the paper robe around the stem—and voilà, your Baby Yoda is ready to serve!

Make It a Mocktail

Want to make a kid-friendly version? Try this:

  • Muddle kiwi with kiwi simple syrup.
  • Add club soda, Sprite, or a splash of lemonade.
  • Decorate just the same!

Baby Yoda Cocktail Tips & Tricks

  • No kiwis? Use lime wedges for ears instead.
  • No muddler? A wooden spoon works just fine.
  • No shaker? A Yeti tumbler or mason jar gets the job done.
  • Alternative eyes: Try blueberries for a twist.
