Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 2 chicken breasts, finely diced
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
For the Asian-Inspired Slaw:
- 1 (397g) bag coleslaw mix
- 4 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
For Tacos & Toppings:
- 16 wonton wrappers
- Sweet chili sauce, for serving
- Chopped cilantro, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Wonton Shells: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly spray wonton wrappers with cooking spray or brush with a little olive or canola oil. Drape each wrapper over the side of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form a taco shape. Bake for 7-8 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning. Once out of the oven, gently pull apart the shells while they’re still pliable for easier filling. Bake for another 7-8 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Cook the Chicken: In a large bowl, mix the diced chicken with hoisin sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Heat a large skillet over high heat and sauté the chicken for 7-8 minutes, stirring frequently, until cooked through.
- Make the Slaw: In a separate bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, green onions, sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and honey. Toss until well-coated.
- Assemble the Tacos: Fill each crispy wonton shell with the chicken mixture. Top with the slaw, drizzle with sweet chili sauce, and sprinkle with chopped cilantro and sesame seeds.
- Serve and Enjoy: These wonton tacos are ready to enjoy as a fun appetizer or a flavorful main dish!
