Why Cook Steak in the Air Fryer?

Air frying gives your steak a deliciously crisp exterior while keeping the inside tender and juicy. It’s fast, convenient, and easy—no special equipment required. Pair it with garlic butter, and you’ll have a restaurant-worthy meal in minutes.

Ingredients

Garlic Butter:

  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • 1 Tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce

Steaks:

  • 2 steaks, 1″ thick (ribeye, sirloin, or striploin)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Make Garlic Butter:

  1. In a small bowl, combine butter, parsley, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Place mixture on parchment or wax paper, roll into a log, and refrigerate until ready to use.

Cook Steaks:

  1. Rub steaks with olive oil, then season with salt and pepper. Let sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  3. Place steaks in a single layer in the basket. Cook for 12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Adjust time for desired doneness:
    • Medium-Rare (135°F): 10 minutes, flip at 5 minutes
    • Medium (145°F): 12 minutes, flip at 6 minutes
    • Well Done (155°F): 14 minutes, flip at 7 minutes
  4. Remove steaks and let rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Top with slices of chilled garlic butter before serving.

Tips for Perfect Air Fryer Steaks

  • Thicker steaks may require longer cooking times.
  • Avoid overcrowding the basket to ensure even cooking.
  • Let steaks rest after cooking to redistribute juices and keep them tender.
  • Use an instant-read thermometer for precise doneness.

Side Dishes That Pair Well

  • Roasted potatoes or mashed potatoes
  • Bacon-wrapped green beans
  • Creamy macaroni and cheese or broccoli casserole
  • Garlic butter dinner rolls

Storage

  • Refrigerate: Store cooked steak in an airtight container for 3–4 days.
  • Reheat: Warm in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–5 minutes until heated through.
